All during his career, he continued to write short stories aimed calculatingly at popular magazines such as the Saturday Evening Post, Country Gentleman , and Good Housekeeping. Weigley, professor emeritus of American history at Temple University, died at the age of 73 on March 3, He passed away suddenly following a heart attack at his home in Center City Philadelphia.
